This detached vacation home in Appelscha accommodates two people and is in a unique location on the edge of the Drents-Friese Wold. With a garden of more than three thousand square meters and direct access to nature, this is an ideal base for hikers and cyclists. Guests here enjoy peace, privacy and comfort while surrounded by the beautiful Frisian and Drenthe landscapes. The surroundings offer plenty of opportunities for activities. The Fochteloërveen, a vast raised bog area, is home to unusual species of birds. The village of Appelscha has cozy restaurants and a golf course. In the nearby villages of Diever and Vledder you can discover historic brink villages, while museums, stores and cultural hotspots can be found in Assen and Groningen. Within a radius of sixty kilometers are also the attractive cities of Leeuwarden and Heerenveen, which are well worth a visit.
Layout
The living room features a seating area with a sofa and a TV with access to streaming services. In the open kitchen you will find an induction cooktop, a refrigerator, a combination microwave and a filter coffee maker. The bedroom has a double box-spring bed. The en suite bathroom has a toilet, a sink and a rain shower. The garden has several seating areas, both sunny and shady, and you have direct access to the adjacent nature reserve.

Location and surroundings
National Park Drents-Friese Wold guarantees hours of hiking and cycling pleasure through varied landscapes of woods, heathland, shifting sands and grasslands. The sheepfold of Doldersum is nearby and here you can watch how the shepherds daily with the flock Schoonebeker heath sheep into the field. Do you fancy a day of water fun for young and old? Then visit Bosbad Appelscha (a heated outdoor pool in the middle of the forest) or the Canadameer (deep recreational swimming lake in the middle of the National Park Drents-Friese Wold. In Appelscha itself there is also plenty to do: there are markets, restaurants, cafes, Amusement Park Duinen Zathe and an outdoor theater that is definitely worth a visit.
